According to a recent report on The Oregonian website, oregonlive.com the state of Oregon’s Latino population is growing faster than the national average. Since 2000 the population of Hispanic Americans has grown 72% compared to only 50% nationwide. What does this mean for law professionals? If we take a look at cities with recent booms in population of Spanish-speakers like New York or Miami the trend may be for attorneys and court reporters in Portland and across the state to consider hiring at least one person fluent in Spanish or at least consider the ability of new employees to speak Spanish in job considerations.
